I welcome you to the Athens Banking Laboratory (ABL) of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The ABL was established in 2017 with the Rector’s Act No Rector’s Act No. 466/22.11.2017 (FEK 4189/30.11.2017) and is dedicated to conduct world-class research on business and financial technology (FinTech), education, counseling and training.
The vision of ABL is to become a leading research and knowledge center that focuses on business and financial research, training, services and technology. The mission of ABL is to carry out excellent research, teaching and service capabilities and new technology and innovation to support business organizations and financial institutions to face the obstacles and the challenges they meet. In addition, ABL aims to exploit emerging technologies, to develop a culture of innovation, and contribute to the bank’s digital strategy.
The ABL brings together academics and professionals around the world to discuss and study innovations, new ideas and technology in the business and banking fields, and forecast their impact in the economy. Events such as conferences, symposia, workshops and seminars organized by ABL aim to bringing leading minds together and exploring new ways of thinking, generating new insights, and uncovering compelling evidence. The ABL serves as a nexus to link various disciplines with professionals, students and other academics to challenge conventional wisdom and understand and drive new ideas and approaches to solve the problems and issues the business organizations and financial institutions face.
